Uses and Benefits of TYZA DP GEL (TERBINAFINE 1% W/W)

This medicine is used to treat fungal infections of the skin.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Ringworm (tinea corporis)
• Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
• Jock itch (tinea cruris)
• Certain yeast infections of the skin (pityriasis versicolor) as advised by doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Terbinafine stops fungal cells from making a substance needed for their outer covering
• This weakens the fungal cell wall and kills the fungus
• It also reduces itching, redness and scaling caused by the infection

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Bacterial skin infections
• Viral skin infections such as warts or herpes
• Nail fungal infections (needs different treatment/formulation)
• Infections inside the mouth, eyes, or other mucous membranes

Use only on the skin area advised by your doctor and complete the full course even if symptoms improve early, to prevent recurrence.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Mild burning or stinging at the application site
• Redness of the skin
• Itching
• Dryness or peeling of skin

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Irritation or rash spreading beyond the applied area
• Skin discoloration
• Increased sensitivity to sunlight

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe swelling of face, lips, or throat
• Difficulty breathing
• Severe blistering, peeling, or oozing of skin
• Signs of a severe allergic reaction (hives, dizziness)

How to Use TYZA DP GEL (TERBINAFINE 1% W/W)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Wash and dry the affected area before applying
• Apply a thin layer of cream as advised by your doctor
• Gently rub it in until it disappears
• Wash your hands after application unless hands are the treated area
• Do not cover the area tightly unless instructed
• Continue for the full duration prescribed, even if the rash looks better, to prevent the infection from returning

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
• Do not apply extra cream to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

• Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place
• Keep the tube tightly closed
• Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to terbinafine or any ingredient in the cream
• Have an open wound or severely broken skin at the application site (unless advised by doctor)

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have very sensitive or eczema-prone skin
• Are using other skin medicines or steroid creams on the same area
• Have a known history of skin allergies

• Other topical medicines applied on the same skin area may reduce effectiveness or increase irritation
• Inform your doctor about any other creams, ointments, or oral medicines you are using
