This medicine is used to treat fungal infections of the skin.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Ringworm (tinea corporis)
- Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
- Jock itch (tinea cruris)
- Certain yeast infections of the skin (pityriasis versicolor) as advised by doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- Terbinafine stops fungal cells from making a substance needed for their outer covering
- This weakens the fungal cell wall and kills the fungus
- It also reduces itching, redness and scaling caused by the infection
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Bacterial skin infections
- Viral skin infections such as warts or herpes
- Nail fungal infections (needs different treatment/formulation)
- Infections inside the mouth, eyes, or other mucous membranes
Use only on the skin area advised by your doctor and complete the full course even if symptoms improve early, to prevent recurrence.
How to Use Terbinafine 1% W/W
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Wash and dry the affected area before applying
- Apply a thin layer of cream as advised by your doctor
- Gently rub it in until it disappears
- Wash your hands after application unless hands are the treated area
- Do not cover the area tightly unless instructed
- Continue for the full duration prescribed, even if the rash looks better, to prevent the infection from returning
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
- Do not apply extra cream to make up for a missed dose

- Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place
- Keep the tube tightly closed
- Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture
