Uses and Benefits of UNISTAR 20/150 Capsules (Rosuvastatin 20mg + Aspirin 150mg)
This combination medicine is prescribed for people with high cholesterol who are also at risk of heart attack, stroke, or other blood clot-related problems.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Lowering high cholesterol and triglyceride levels
- Reducing risk of heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients
- Secondary prevention after a heart attack, stroke, or stent/bypass procedure
- Managing patients with coronary artery disease
HOW IT WORKS
- Rosuvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver needed to make cholesterol, lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides while raising HDL (good cholesterol)
- Aspirin blocks a substance in the blood called thromboxane, preventing platelets from clumping together and forming clots
- Together they help keep blood vessels clear and reduce clot-related events
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a treatment for acute chest pain or ongoing heart attack — seek emergency care
- Not used for general pain relief or fever
- Not a substitute for lifestyle changes like diet, exercise, and quitting smoking
- Not for people without doctor-confirmed need for cholesterol/blood-thinning therapy
