Uses and Benefits of URIMAX 0.4MG CAPSULE 20'S (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4mg)

Tamsulosin Hydrochloride is mainly used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland in men.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relieving difficulty in passing urine due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
• Improving urine flow and reducing straining
• Reducing the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying
• Reducing frequent urination, especially at night
• Sometimes used to help pass small kidney stones (as advised by a doctor)

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks alpha-1 receptors present in the prostate and bladder neck
• Relaxes the smooth muscles in these areas
• Reduces resistance to urine flow
• Helps the bladder empty more completely and comfortably

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not shrink the prostate gland or cure prostate enlargement

• Prolonged and painful erection (priapism)

How to Use URIMAX 0.4MG CAPSULE 20'S (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Take after the same meal each day, at around the same time
• Swallow the capsule/tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush it
• Do not take on an empty stomach as it may affect absorption
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel better, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the usual time
• Do not take two doses together to make up for the missed one
• If you miss several doses, consult your doctor before restarting

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach and sight of children
• Do not store in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink
• Discard properly if expired or no longer needed
