This medicine is prescribed for allergic conditions of the nose and airways that come with cough and mucus production, such as allergic rhinitis with chest congestion, and certain cases of bronchitis with allergic symptoms.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itching due to allergies
• Cough with thick mucus (phlegm) that is difficult to clear
• Symptoms of allergic bronchitis where airway narrowing and mucus are both present

HOW IT WORKS

• Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that blocks the action of histamine, reducing allergy symptoms
• Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that cause airway narrowing and inflammation
• Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough out

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a cure for asthma and should not replace your regular asthma inhaler or preventer medicine
• It is not meant for dry cough without mucus
• It is not used for bacterial chest infections unless prescribed alongside an antibiotic
• It should not be used as a first-choice treatment for sudden, severe breathing difficulty

• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problems)
• Unusual mood changes, agitation, or suicidal thoughts (rare but reported with Montelukast)
• Fast or irregular heartbeat

How to Use XYZAL M SYRUP (Levocetirizine 5mg + Montelukast 10mg + Ambroxol 75mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• It can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Drink plenty of water through the day to help the mucolytic action work better
• Do not stop the medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, especially if used for ongoing allergic symptoms

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE
