WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Throat and tonsil infections
• Middle ear infections
• Sinus infections
• Bronchitis and other respiratory tract infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Typhoid fever caused by susceptible bacteria

HOW IT WORKS

• Cefixime belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins
• It stops bacteria from building their protective outer wall
• Without this wall, the bacteria cannot survive and the infection is controlled

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not work against viral infections such as common cold or flu
• It is not effective for fungal infections
• It should not be used to treat infections that are not caused by bacteria sensitive to it
• It is not a painkiller or fever reducer, though fever from infection may reduce as infection clears

How to Use ZIMNIC SYRUP (CEFIXIME (50MG/5ML))

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Shake the bottle well before each use
• Use the measuring cup or spoon provided with the medicine, not a regular kitchen spoon
• Take the exact amount prescribed by the doctor, at the times advised
• It can be taken with or without food, but taking it at the same time each day helps maintain effect
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve earlier, unless your doctor advises otherwise

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one

STORAGE

• Store the unopened bottle as per label instructions, usually at room temperature away from direct sunlight
• Once mixed with water by the pharmacist, refrigerate the suspension and use within the period mentioned on the label, usually 7 to 14 days
• Discard any unused suspension after that period
• Keep out of reach of children
