Uses and Benefits of ZOVAIR 320MG RC CAPSULE (FORMOTEROL FUMRATE + TIOTROPIUM BROMIDE + CICLESONIDE)
This combination medicine is used for the long-term management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), conditions that cause narrowing of the airways and difficulty in breathing.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term control and prevention of asthma symptoms
- Maintenance treatment of COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema
- Reducing frequency of breathlessness, wheezing, and cough due to airway narrowing
HOW IT WORKS
- Formoterol Fumarate relaxes the muscles around the airways to keep them open for a long duration
- Tiotropium Bromide blocks certain nerve signals that cause airway muscles to tighten, helping keep airways relaxed
- Ciclesonide is an inhaled steroid that reduces inflammation and swelling inside the airways
- Together, they improve airflow, reduce inflammation, and lower the frequency of flare-ups
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not for treating a sudden asthma attack or sudden breathlessness (a fast-acting reliever inhaler is needed for that)
- Not for treating chest infections, pneumonia, or common cold
- Not suitable as the first medicine started for a newly diagnosed patient without medical assessment
