WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Infections after certain surgeries, as advised by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Amoxycillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that kills bacteria by stopping them from building their cell wall
• Some bacteria produce an enzyme that destroys amoxycillin before it can work
• Clavulanic acid blocks this enzyme, allowing amoxycillin to remain effective
• Together they cover a broader range of bacteria than amoxycillin alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections such as common cold, flu or most sore throats
• Fungal infections

How to Use Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the dose and frequency advised
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• It can be taken with or without food, but taking it with a meal may reduce stomach upset
• Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
• Do not stop the medicine early as this can lead to the infection coming back or antibiotic resistance

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Discard any unused liquid suspension as advised on the label after reconstitution

• Severe or bloody diarrhoea that does not stop
• Unusual bruising or bleeding
