WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

HOW IT WORKS

• Azilsartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II, relaxing and widening blood vessels
• Chlorthalidone increases urine output, removing extra salt and water from the body
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either alone

• Not used for immediate relief of a hypertensive emergency

How to Use Azilsartan Medoxomil 40 mg + Chlorthalidone 12.5 mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking it suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well
• Continue regular blood pressure checks as advised
