WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Prevention of infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns
• Treatment of superficial skin infections caused by bacteria
• Use after minor skin surgery, as advised by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Bacitracin stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall
• Neomycin blocks bacteria from making proteins they need to survive
• Polymyxin B damages the outer membrane of certain bacteria, killing them
• Together, the three antibiotics cover a broad range of skin bacteria

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for deep wounds, animal or human bites, or serious burns

How to Use Bacitracin (400IU) + Neomycin (3400IU) + Polymyxin

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Wash your hands before and after applying
• Clean the affected area gently and pat dry
• Apply a thin layer of the ointment/cream to the affected skin as directed by your doctor
• Do not use more than the prescribed amount or apply on large areas of broken skin
• Cover with a clean bandage only if your doctor advises
• Do not use for longer than the duration prescribed by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
• Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose
