Bilastine 40mg is mainly used to treat allergic conditions caused by histamine release in the body.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itching)
- Relief of symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives, skin itching, redness)
- Seasonal and year-round allergy symptoms
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks histamine H1 receptors in the body
- This reduces the allergic symptoms like itching, swelling, and redness
- It works quickly and its effect usually lasts for about 24 hours
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used to treat bacterial or viral infections
- It is not a painkiller and does not treat fever
- It is not used for asthma treatment
- It should not be used for anaphylaxis or severe allergic emergencies
How to Use Bilastine 40mg
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- It is usually taken once a day, at the same time each day
- Take it on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after food, for best absorption
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
- Do not take more than the prescribed dose
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
