How to Use Bisacodyl 5mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take the tablet by mouth, usually at bedtime, with a full glass of water
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew it, as this can cause stomach irritation
• Do not take it within an hour of drinking milk or antacids, as this may reduce its effectiveness
• Effect usually occurs within 6 to 12 hours, so night-time dosing gives a morning bowel movement
• Use only for the short duration advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Since this medicine is usually taken as needed for constipation, simply take the next dose when required
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one
• If you are using it for bowel preparation before a procedure, follow the exact schedule given by your doctor
