Bisacodyl 5mg is mainly used to treat constipation by helping the bowels move more easily and regularly.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of occasional or short-term constipation
- Bowel preparation before surgery, colonoscopy, or X-ray procedures
- Relief of constipation caused by prolonged bed rest or certain medicines
HOW IT WORKS
- It stimulates nerve endings in the lining of the large intestine
- This increases the muscle movement (motility) of the bowel
- It also helps water and salts accumulate in the bowel, softening the stool and making it easier to pass
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a treatment for the underlying cause of chronic constipation
- It is not meant for long-term daily use without medical advice
- It does not treat diarrhoea, bloating unrelated to constipation, or intestinal infections
- It is not a weight-loss product and should never be misused as one

How to Use DULCOFLEX 5MG TABLET (Bisacodyl 5mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take the tablet by mouth, usually at bedtime, with a full glass of water
- Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew it, as this can cause stomach irritation
- Do not take it within an hour of drinking milk or antacids, as this may reduce its effectiveness
- Effect usually occurs within 6 to 12 hours, so night-time dosing gives a morning bowel movement
- Use only for the short duration advised by your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Since this medicine is usually taken as needed for constipation, simply take the next dose when required
- Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one
- If you are using it for bowel preparation before a procedure, follow the exact schedule given by your doctor
