WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Respiratory tract infections like sinusitis, throat and tonsil infections
• Ear infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Chest infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia caused by susceptible bacteria

HOW IT WORKS

• Cefpodoxime stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
• Clavulanic Acid blocks an enzyme called beta-lactamase that some bacteria use to destroy antibiotics
• Together they widen the range of bacteria this medicine can treat and make it more effective against resistant strains

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections like common cold, flu or most sore throats
• Fungal infections
• As a general painkiller or fever medicine

HOW TO TAKE IT
