This medicine is used for skin conditions where inflammation is combined with, or at risk of, bacterial infection.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

  • Treating severe inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
  • Managing skin allergies and dermatitis with bacterial infection risk
  • Reducing redness, itching, swelling and irritation of the skin
  • Treating infected patches of skin along with inflammation

HOW IT WORKS

  • Clobetasol is a strong steroid that reduces inflammation, redness, itching and swelling by acting on skin cells
  • Neomycin is an antibiotic that kills or stops growth of bacteria that may infect the affected skin
  • Together they treat both the inflammation and the infection at the site of application

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

  • Not used for viral skin infections like chickenpox or herpes
  • Not used for fungal infections alone
  • Not used for acne
  • Not used on normal, unaffected skin

How to Use Clobetasol (0.05% W/W) + Neomycin (0.5% W/W)

HOW TO TAKE IT

  • For external use on skin only, not to be taken by mouth
  • Wash and dry the affected area gently before application
  • Apply a thin layer as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day
  • Rub in gently and wash your hands after application unless hands are the treated area
  • Do not cover the area with airtight dressings unless your doctor tells you to
  • Use only for the duration advised by your doctor, do not use for longer
  • Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and open wounds

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

  • Apply as soon as you remember
  • If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
  • Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

  • Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
  • Keep the tube tightly closed
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

  • Have any hearing problems, as neomycin can rarely affect hearing if absorbed
