WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

  • Lowering high intraocular (eye) pressure
  • Managing open-angle glaucoma
  • Managing ocular hypertension when a single medicine is not enough

HOW IT WORKS

  • Latanoprost increases the outflow of fluid from the eye
  • Timolol, a beta-blocker, reduces the production of fluid inside the eye
  • Together they lower eye pressure more than either alone
  • Benzalkonium chloride is a preservative that keeps the eye drop solution free from contamination

How to Use Latanoprost 50mcg + Timolol 5mg + Benzalkonium 0.02%

HOW TO TAKE IT

  • Use only in the eye(s) as directed by your doctor
  • Wash your hands before using the drops
  • Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and place one drop inside
  • Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface
  • Press gently on the inner corner of the eye for about a minute after applying to reduce absorption into the body
  • If you use other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between each
  • Do not stop using without consulting your doctor, even if you feel fine, as eye pressure can rise silently

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

  • Apply it as soon as you remember
  • If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
  • Do not apply two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

  • Store as per the instructions on the pack, usually in a cool place away from direct sunlight
  • Some formulations need refrigeration before opening; check the label
  • Once opened, most eye drops should be discarded after 4 weeks
