This combination is mainly used to treat allergic conditions affecting the nose and skin, and to help control allergy-related breathing symptoms.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy eyes/nose)
- Chronic idiopathic urticaria (long-term hives/itching)
- Allergy symptoms linked with seasonal or dust/pollen exposure
- As an add-on to help ease allergy-related wheezing or nasal congestion
HOW IT WORKS
- Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that blocks histamine, a chemical that causes sneezing, itching, and runny nose
- Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that cause airway swelling and mucus in allergies and asthma
- Together they reduce nasal, eye, and skin allergy symptoms more effectively
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not for treating a sudden asthma attack
- Not a substitute for inhalers used in asthma control
- Not meant for common cold or viral infections
- Not for bacterial infections or fever unrelated to allergy
How to Use Levocetirizine 5mg + Montelukast 10mg
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the evening
- Can be taken with or without food
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Try to take it at the same time each day for best effect
- Continue for as long as your doctor recommends, even if symptoms improve
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
