HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks progesterone receptors in the body

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

How to Use Mifepristone (25mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine only as prescribed and under the supervision of a qualified doctor
• It is usually taken by mouth with water, followed by another medicine after a gap of time as instructed
• Do not chew or crush the tablet unless your doctor tells you to
• Follow-up visits and scans, as advised, are important to confirm the treatment has worked completely

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Vaginal bleeding or spotting

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Heavy vaginal bleeding that soaks more than two thick pads an hour for two hours in a row
• Severe abdominal pain not relieved by usual painkillers
• Fever above 100.4°F lasting more than a few hours
• Signs of infection such as foul-smelling vaginal discharge
• Fainting or severe weakness
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face or lips, or difficulty breathing

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have a confirmed or suspected ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the uterus)
• Have chronic adrenal failure

• Are allergic to mifepristone or any of its ingredients

• Certain anti-seizure medicines
• Certain antifungal and antibiotic medicines
• Blood-thinning medicines
• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) when taken close to the treatment period, unless advised by your doctor
