Uses and Benefits of FIBROEASE 25MG TABLET (Mifepristone (25mg))

Mifepristone is used to end an early pregnancy medically, and in certain hormone-related conditions as decided by your doctor.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Medical termination of early pregnancy, usually combined with another medicine given after a gap of time as advised by the doctor
• Certain hormonal conditions where progesterone action needs to be blocked, as decided by a specialist

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks progesterone receptors in the body
• Progesterone is needed to keep the lining of the uterus supportive for pregnancy
• By blocking this hormone, the uterine lining breaks down and the pregnancy cannot continue
• It also makes the uterus more sensitive to contraction-causing medicines used afterward

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Heavy vaginal bleeding that soaks more than two thick pads an hour for two hours in a row
• Severe abdominal pain not relieved by usual painkillers
• Fever above 100.4°F lasting more than a few hours
• Signs of infection such as foul-smelling vaginal discharge
• Fainting or severe weakness
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face or lips, or difficulty breathing

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine only as prescribed and under the supervision of a qualified doctor

• Do not chew or crush the tablet unless your doctor tells you to
• Follow-up visits and scans, as advised, are important to confirm the treatment has worked completely

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have a confirmed or suspected ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the uterus)
• Have chronic adrenal failure

• Are allergic to mifepristone or any of its ingredients
