WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and heartburn
  • Stomach and duodenal ulcers
  • Erosive esophagitis (inflammation of the food pipe due to acid)
  • Conditions where the stomach makes too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
  • Along with antibiotics, to help treat H. pylori infection
  • Prevention of ulcers caused by long-term use of painkillers (NSAIDs)

HOW IT WORKS

  • Blocks the acid pump in the stomach lining cells
  • Reduces the amount of acid released into the stomach
  • Helps relieve symptoms and allows healing of acid-damaged tissue
