How to Use Sertraline 100mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• It can be taken with or without food, at around the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms
• It may take several weeks before you notice full improvement, so continue taking it even if you do not feel different right away

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging, tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

• Thoughts of self-harm or suicide, especially in young adults
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Signs of serotonin syndrome such as agitation, high fever, fast heartbeat, muscle stiffness or twitching
• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat, or difficulty breathing
• Seizures
• Severe restlessness or inability to sit still

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to sertraline or any of its ingredients
• Are currently taking or have recently stopped taking MAOI antidepressants
• Are taking pimozide

• Other antidepressants, including MAOIs and other SSRIs
• Blood thinners such as warfarin or aspirin
• NSAID painkillers like ibuprofen
• Triptans used for migraine
• Certain antipsychotics and medicines affecting heart rhythm
• Herbal products such as St John's Wort
