WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

  • Difficulty starting urination
  • Weak or interrupted urine flow
  • Frequent urination, especially at night

HOW IT WORKS

  • Blocks alpha-1 receptors in the prostate and bladder neck muscles

How to Use Tamsulosin 0.2 mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

  • Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily

  • Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not chew or crush it
  • Do not stop taking it suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if symptoms improve
  • Continue for as long as your doctor recommends, even if you feel better

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

  • Skip the missed dose and take the next one at the usual time
  • Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
  • If you miss several doses, consult your doctor before restarting

STORAGE

  • Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
  • Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

  • Dizziness

  • Other alpha-blockers (risk of excess blood pressure drop)
  • Medicines for erectile dysfunction such as sildenafil
  • Strong antifungal or antibiotic medicines like ketoconazole, erythromycin
  • Blood pressure–lowering medicines
  • Warfarin or other blood thinners (use with caution)
