Tegoprazan is used to treat conditions caused by excess stomach acid, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Erosive esophagitis (inflammation and damage to the food pipe from acid)
• Peptic ulcer disease, often along with other medicines
• Relief of heartburn, acid regurgitation, and related discomfort

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks the potassium-competitive acid pump in the stomach lining
• This reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces
• It works faster and more consistently than some older acid-reducing medicines
• Lower acid levels allow irritated tissue in the esophagus or stomach to heal

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller and does not treat general stomach pain unrelated to acid
• It is not used to treat infections such as H. pylori on its own, though it may be combined with antibiotics for this purpose
• It does not treat gallbladder or pancreatic disorders
• It is not meant for long-term use without medical supervision unless specifically advised

How to Use Tegoprazan 50mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• It can generally be taken with or without food, but follow your doctor's specific instructions
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says it is safe to do so
• Try to take it at the same time each day for best results
• Continue for the full duration advised, even if you feel better, unless told to stop

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the tablet in its original packaging until ready to use

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, lips, or throat, or difficulty breathing
• Severe or persistent diarrhoea, especially with fever (possible intestinal infection)
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine (possible liver problem)
• Unexplained bone pain or fractures with long-term use
• Severe stomach pain unrelated to usual symptoms

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
