Amisulpride 50mg is used mainly for the treatment of schizophrenia, a mental health condition that affects thinking, feelings and behaviour.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of schizophrenia, including both positive symptoms (hallucinations, delusions) and negative symptoms (low motivation, social withdrawal)
- Sometimes used at lower doses to manage negative symptoms specifically
- Long-term management to prevent relapse of psychotic symptoms
HOW IT WORKS
- Blocks certain dopamine receptors in the brain
- At low doses, mainly affects receptors that control negative symptoms
- At higher doses, also reduces positive symptoms like hallucinations and delusions
- Helps restore a more balanced mental state, improving thinking and behaviour
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a treatment for anxiety or common mood disorders unless specifically advised by a doctor
- Not used for sleep problems alone
- Not a painkiller or general sedative
- Not for use in children unless specifically prescribed by a specialist

How to Use AMIGOLD 50MG Tablets (Amisulpride 50mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time(s) each day
- Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
- Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better
- Do not change the dose on your own
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
- If you miss doses often, set a reminder or speak to your doctor about adjusting your routine
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not store in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to amisulpride or any other ingredient in the tablet
- Have a tumour that depends on prolactin, such as certain pituitary or breast tumours
- Have phaeochromocytoma (a type of adrenal gland tumour)
- Are taking other medicines that significantly affect heart rhythm, unless approved by your doctor

- Have heart problems, including irregular heartbeat
- Have kidney problems, as dose may need adjustment
- Have epilepsy or a history of seizures
- Have Parkinson's disease
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Are elderly, especially with dementia-related psychosis
