This composition is prescribed for the treatment of mixed anxiety and depressive symptoms, where a person experiences both low mood and anxiety together.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Anxiety associated with depression
- Sleep disturbance linked to anxiety or depression
- Nervous tension, restlessness, and irritability seen with depressive illness
HOW IT WORKS
- Chlordiazepoxide calms the nervous system by enhancing the activity of a natural chemical (GABA) that reduces anxiety
- Amitriptyline increases the levels of certain brain chemicals (serotonin and noradrenaline) that help regulate mood
- Together they relieve both the emotional and physical symptoms of combined anxiety-depression
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for simple sleeplessness without anxiety or depression
- Not used for everyday stress that does not need medical treatment

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with water
- Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor says otherwise
- Try to take it at the same time(s) each day to maintain steady effect
- Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms
- Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine
- Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to chlordiazepoxide, amitriptyline, or any ingredient in the medicine
