Uses and Benefits of AMLOVAS-H TABLET (Amlodipine 5mg + HCTZ 12.5mg)
This combination medicine is mainly prescribed to control high blood pressure in patients who need more than one medicine to keep it in a healthy range.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough
- Sometimes used to reduce the number of tablets needed for blood pressure control
HOW IT WORKS

- HCTZ is a diuretic (water pill) that helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water, reducing blood volume
- Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for immediate relief of a hypertensive emergency
- Not a treatment for chest pain occurring suddenly (acute angina attack)
- Not used for general body swelling unrelated to blood pressure
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
