Uses and Benefits of AMLOVAS XM 5/50 TABLET (AMLODIPINE 5MG + METOPROLOL SUCCINATE 50MG)
This medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure and to manage chest pain (angina) caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Long-term management of angina (chest pain due to heart disease)
- Sometimes used to help control heart rate in certain heart rhythm problems
HOW IT WORKS
- Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood
- Metoprolol Succinate slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions
- Together they lower blood pressure and reduce the workload on the heart
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for immediate relief of a sudden chest pain attack
- Not a treatment for heart attack in progress
- Not meant for occasional or as-needed use for anxiety or stress
- Not a substitute for lifestyle changes like diet, exercise, and weight control

How to Use AMLOVAS XM 5/50 TABLET (AMLODIPINE 5MG + METOPROLOL SUCCINATE 50MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew it
- Try to take it at the same time every day for best effect
- Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
- Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can worsen your heart condition
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
- Keep the tablet in its original blister pack until ready to use

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to amlodipine, metoprolol, or any other ingredient in this medicine
- Have very low blood pressure or a very slow heart rate
- Have severe heart failure that is not stable
- Have certain serious heart block conditions not managed with a pacemaker
- Have severe asthma or breathing problems
