This medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure and to manage chest pain (angina) caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Long-term management of angina (chest pain due to heart disease)
• Sometimes used to help control heart rate in certain heart rhythm problems

HOW IT WORKS

• Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood
• Metoprolol Succinate slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions
• Together they lower blood pressure and reduce the workload on the heart

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a sudden chest pain attack

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew it
• Try to take it at the same time every day for best effect
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can worsen your heart condition

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
