This medicine is used mainly to treat high blood pressure in adults who need more than one medicine to control it.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Reducing risk of heart-related complications caused by uncontrolled blood pressure
• Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control levels

HOW IT WORKS

• Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II, a chemical that narrows blood vessels, helping vessels relax and widen
• Amlodipine blocks calcium entry into blood vessel muscles, causing them to relax and widen
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a sudden severe blood pressure spike (hypertensive emergency)
• Not a treatment for chest pain due to heart attack
• Not used for treating infections or pain
• Not recommended for use in pregnancy

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (signs of liver problems)
• Very slow or irregular heartbeat
• Signs of kidney problems such as reduced urination or swelling

How to Use AMODEP TM TABLET (TELMISARTAN 40MG + AMLODIPINE 5MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, as blood pressure can rise again
• Continue regular blood pressure checks as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
