Uses and Benefits of AQUAMET NASAL SPRAY (MOMETASONE FUROATE)
Mometasone furoate is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions and nasal allergy symptoms.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions
- Psoriasis (skin plaques)
- Allergic itching and rashes
- Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itching due to seasonal or year-round allergies)
HOW IT WORKS
- It is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by acting on immune cells in the skin or nasal lining
- It decreases swelling, redness, and itching caused by allergic or inflammatory reactions
- With nasal use, it helps reduce congestion and sneezing over regular use
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used to treat bacterial or fungal skin infections alone
- It is not a cure for the underlying allergic or skin condition, it only controls symptoms
- It is not meant for long-term unsupervised use on the face or sensitive skin areas
- It is not used for sudden severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Signs of skin infection such as increased redness, pus, or swelling
- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, or throat and difficulty breathing
- Vision changes, eye pain, or blurred vision (with prolonged use near eyes)
- Signs of hormonal imbalance such as unusual weight gain, muscle weakness, or slow wound healing

How to Use AQUAMET NASAL SPRAY (MOMETASONE FUROATE)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- For skin use, apply a thin layer to the affected area and gently rub in
- Wash your hands after applying unless the hands are the treated area
- For nasal spray, shake well before use and spray into each nostril as directed, avoiding direct contact with the eyes
- Do not use more often or for longer than prescribed
- Do not cover the treated skin area tightly unless your doctor advises it
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply or use it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not apply or spray extra to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
- Keep the cap tightly closed after use
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to mometasone furoate or any other ingredient in the product
- Have an untreated skin infection (bacterial, fungal, or viral) at the application site
- Have recently had nasal surgery or nasal injury, without doctor's clearance for the spray
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Have thin or fragile skin, or a history of skin infections
- Are using it on a child, since children may be more sensitive to steroid effects
- Have glaucoma, eye infections, or nasal ulcers
- Are using other steroid medicines, since combined use can increase side effects

- Other corticosteroid creams, sprays, or tablets
- Medicines that suppress the immune system
- Certain antifungal medicines that may increase steroid absorption
