Uses and Benefits of MOMEFLO NASAL SPRAY (MOMETASONE 50MCG)
Mometasone nasal spray is mainly used to treat allergic rhinitis (allergy affecting the nose) and to relieve associated nasal symptoms.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
- Perennial (year-round) allergic rhinitis
- Nasal congestion, sneezing, itching and runny nose due to allergies
- Sometimes used to help shrink nasal polyps
HOW IT WORKS
- It is a corticosteroid that reduces swelling and inflammation in the lining of the nose
- This lowers the release of substances that cause allergic symptoms
- Regular use helps prevent symptoms rather than giving instant relief
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It does not treat bacterial or viral infections of the nose or sinuses
- It is not a quick-relief medicine for sudden nasal blockage
- It is not meant for eye infections or skin conditions
- It should not be used for common cold symptoms alone

How to Use MOMEFLO NASAL SPRAY (MOMETASONE 50MCG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use only as a nasal spray, as prescribed by your doctor
- Shake the bottle gently before use
- Blow your nose gently to clear it before spraying
- Tilt your head slightly forward and spray into each nostril as directed, avoiding spraying directly on the septum
- Do not spray in the eyes
- Use it regularly at the same time each day for the best effect
- It may take a few days of regular use to notice full benefit
- Wash your hands after use and wipe the nozzle clean
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Use it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the label

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to mometasone or any other ingredient in the spray
- Have an untreated nasal infection
- Have recently had nasal surgery or nasal injury (unless approved by your doctor)
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have tuberculosis or any active infection
- Have glaucoma, cataracts or other eye problems
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Have recently had nasal ulcers or surgery
- Are taking other steroid medicines (tablets, inhalers or creams)
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Ritonavir and other strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, which may increase steroid levels in the body
- Other corticosteroids used by any route, increasing overall steroid exposure
- Ketoconazole and similar antifungal medicines
