Uses and Benefits of ARVAST 30MG TABLET (ROSUVASTATIN 30MG)

Rosuvastatin 30mg is mainly used to treat high cholesterol and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides
• Raising good cholesterol (HDL) levels
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke and other heart-related problems in high-risk patients
• Managing cholesterol in people with diabetes or family history of high cholesterol

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks an enzyme in the liver called HMG-CoA reductase, which is needed to make cholesterol
• This lowers the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver
• It also helps the liver remove cholesterol already in the blood

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller or fever medicine
• It does not treat infections
• It is not used for immediate relief of chest pain or heart attack symptoms
• It is not a substitute for a healthy diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Skin rash or itching
• Sleep disturbances
• Sore throat
• Changes in liver enzyme levels seen on blood tests

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever or dark-coloured urine (may indicate muscle breakdown)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, severe tiredness (signs of liver problems)
• Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, throat, or difficulty breathing
• Unexplained bleeding or bruising
• Severe skin reactions with blistering or peeling

How to Use ARVAST 30MG TABLET (ROSUVASTATIN 30MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
• Try to take it at the same time each day to build a routine
• Continue taking it even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs regular use
• Do not stop the medicine on your own without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
