This medicine is used to treat mixed dyslipidemia, a condition where both cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood are higher than normal.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol
- Lowering high triglyceride levels
- Raising HDL (good) cholesterol
- Reducing risk of heart and blood vessel problems in people with mixed dyslipidemia
HOW IT WORKS
- Rosuvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol, lowering LDL levels
- Fenofibrate acts on fat-processing pathways to reduce triglycerides and increase HDL
- Together they provide a more complete correction of abnormal lipid levels
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
- Not used for immediate relief of chest pain or heart attack
- Not a weight-loss medicine
- Not a substitute for diet and lifestyle changes advised by your doctor

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

- Unexplained severe muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness (possible muscle breakdown)
- Dark coloured urine
- Yellowing of skin or eyes, severe stomach pain (possible liver or gallbladder problem)
- Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face/lips, or difficulty breathing
- Severe abdominal pain that may indicate pancreatitis

How to Use ARVAST F-5 TABLET (Rosuvastatin 5mg + Fenofibrate 67mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the evening
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Can be taken with or without food, as directed by your doctor
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs continued treatment
- Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Have active liver disease or unexplained persistent liver enzyme elevations
- Have severe kidney disease or gallbladder disease

- Are allergic to rosuvastatin, fenofibrate, or any ingredient in this medicine

- Have a history of muscle problems or unexplained muscle pain
- Have kidney or liver disease
- Drink alcohol regularly
- Have thyroid problems
- Are planning pregnancy
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other cholesterol-lowering medicines (statins or fibrates)
- Blood thinners such as warfarin
- Ciclosporin or other immunosuppressants
