Uses and Benefits of AZILTA-T 80MG TABLET (AZELNIDIPINE 4MG + TELMISARTAN 80MG)
This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure in adults who need more than one medicine to control it.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control levels
- May be used long-term to reduce risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems linked to high blood pressure
HOW IT WORKS
- Azelnidipine blocks calcium channels in blood vessel walls, causing them to relax and widen
- Telmisartan blocks the action of a hormone called angiotensin II, which normally narrows blood vessels
- Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for emergency treatment of very high blood pressure (hypertensive crisis)
- Not a treatment for chest pain (angina) unless specifically advised
- Not used for heart failure treatment
- Not meant for occasional or as-needed use; it must be taken regularly as prescribed

- Nausea

- Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat (allergic reaction)
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe dizziness or fainting
- Signs of kidney problems such as reduced urination or swelling
- Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
- Severe skin rash or blistering

How to Use AZILTA-T 80MG TABLET (AZELNIDIPINE 4MG + TELMISARTAN 80MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
- It can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs continuous treatment
- Do not stop the medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and moisture
- Keep the tablet in its original strip or container until ready to use
- Keep out of reach and sight of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to azelnidipine, telmisartan, or any other ingredient in the tablet

- Have severe kidney disease requiring dialysis (unless advised by your doctor)
