Uses and Benefits of BILYPSA TABLET (SAROGLITAZAR 4MG)
Saroglitazar 4mg is prescribed for people with type 2 diabetes who have high triglyceride levels and abnormal cholesterol (diabetic dyslipidemia) that is not adequately controlled by diet and other lipid-lowering medicines.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Managing high triglyceride levels in patients with type 2 diabetes
- Treating diabetic dyslipidemia (abnormal blood fat levels linked to diabetes)
- Sometimes used to support control of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) associated with diabetes, as advised by the doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- It activates PPAR alpha and gamma receptors, which regulate fat and sugar metabolism
- This action lowers triglycerides and improves insulin sensitivity
- It also helps raise good cholesterol (HDL) levels in some patients
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a treatment for type 1 diabetes
- It is not used as the primary treatment for high LDL (bad) cholesterol alone
- It is not meant for weight loss or general liver detox

- Very low blood sugar symptoms like excessive sweating, shakiness, or confusion (especially if taken with other diabetes medicines)

How to Use BILYPSA TABLET (SAROGLITAZAR 4MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- It is generally taken with the main meal of the day, but follow your doctor's specific instructions
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as it works over time to control triglycerides

IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to saroglitazar or any ingredient in the tablet
- Have severe liver disease
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your doctor
- Have a history of bladder cancer (discuss with your doctor first)
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have any existing liver or kidney disease
- Have a history of heart failure or fluid retention
