Carvedilol 12.5mg is mainly used to treat high blood pressure and heart-related conditions.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• High blood pressure (hypertension)
• Chronic heart failure, along with other heart medicines
• To improve survival after a heart attack that has affected heart function
• Sometimes used for certain heart rhythm or chest pain conditions as advised by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks beta and alpha receptors in the heart and blood vessels
• This slows the heart rate and relaxes blood vessels
• Reduces the workload on the heart and lowers blood pressure
• Over time, helps the heart pump more efficiently in heart failure

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking it suddenly, even if you feel better, as this can worsen heart problems
• Take it at the same time(s) each day to maintain steady levels in the body
• Continue regular blood pressure and heart rate checks as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• If you miss several doses, inform your doctor before restarting

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
