Uses and Benefits of CETANIL TM 25MG TABLET (Cilnidipine (10mg) + Metoprolol Succinate (23.75mg) + Telmisartan (40mg))
This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) that needs more than one medicine to be controlled properly.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term control of high blood pressure
- Reducing the workload on the heart in patients with hypertension
- Use in patients who need combination therapy instead of single-drug treatment
HOW IT WORKS
- Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure
- Metoprolol Succinate is a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contraction
- Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking a hormone that narrows them
- Together, these three actions lower blood pressure more effectively than a single medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for immediate relief of a sudden severe rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency)
- Not a treatment for chest pain occurring suddenly (acute angina attack)
- Not used to treat infections or pain
- Not suitable for starting blood pressure treatment without a doctor's evaluation
