This combination medicine is prescribed to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria in different parts of the body.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and sinusitis
- Ear, nose and throat infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Typhoid fever caused by susceptible bacteria
HOW IT WORKS
- Cefixime stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills them
- Clavulanic acid blocks an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that some bacteria use to destroy cefixime
- Together they make the antibiotic more effective against resistant bacteria
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Viral infections such as common cold, flu or most sore throats
- Fungal infections
- As a general painkiller or fever medicine
- Preventing infections without a doctor's advice

How to Use CLACIX 100MG DT TABLET (CEFIXIME 100 MG + CLAVULANIC ACID 62.5 MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice a day
- Can be taken with or without food, but taking with food may reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush unless advised
- Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better
- Do not stop the medicine early as the infection may come back or become resistant
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date
- If a reconstituted liquid form is used, check label for refrigeration and discard time
