WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and tonsillitis
• Ear infections (otitis media)
• Throat infections like pharyngitis
• Urinary tract infections
• Other bacterial infections as diagnosed by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Cefixime belongs to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics
• It works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall
• Without a proper cell wall, the bacteria die and the infection is controlled

• Viral infections such as common cold, flu, or most sore throats
• Fungal infections

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the dose and frequency advised

• Swallow tablets with water; for liquid forms, use the measuring cup or spoon provided
• Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• If using a reconstituted liquid, check the label for how long it stays usable after opening and store as advised, usually in a refrigerator
• Discard any unused liquid after the recommended period
