This combination medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially when diet, exercise, and metformin alone are not enough to control blood sugar.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
• Used along with diet and exercise for better blood sugar management

HOW IT WORKS

• Dapagliflozin blocks a protein in the kidneys (SGLT2) that reabsorbs sugar, causing extra sugar to be passed out in urine

• Signs of dehydration or severe urinary tract infection with fever, chills, or back pain
• Sudden swelling, redness, or pain in the genital or groin area (rare but serious infection)
• Signs of very low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, or confusion, especially if combined with other diabetes medicines

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says so

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
