Uses and Benefits of DAVI-OD 10MG TABLET (DAPAGLIFLOZIN 10MG + VILDAGLIPTIN 100MG)

This combination medicine is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise and a single medicine are not enough to control blood sugar.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• To lower high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
• Used along with diet control and physical activity
• Sometimes used together with other diabetes medicines as advised by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Dapagliflozin makes the kidneys remove extra sugar from the body through urine
• Vildagliptin helps the body release more insulin and reduces sugar production by the liver after meals
• Together they help control both fasting and after-meal blood sugar levels

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for type 1 diabetes
• Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis
• Not a treatment for weight loss, though some weight change may occur
• Not a substitute for insulin when insulin is specifically needed

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Urinary tract infection
• Genital yeast infection
• Increased urination
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Low blood sugar (especially with other diabetes medicines)
• Back pain
• Constipation or diarrhoea
• Joint pain
• Skin rash or itching

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Signs of severe low blood sugar such as shaking, sweating, confusion
• Severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting (possible ketoacidosis even with normal sugar levels)
• Signs of dehydration or very low blood pressure
• Severe skin reaction, blistering or peeling
• Liver problems such as yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine
• Signs of pancreatitis such as severe stomach pain radiating to the back
• Swelling of face, lips, throat or difficulty breathing (allergic reaction)

How to Use DAVI-OD 10MG TABLET (DAPAGLIFLOZIN 10MG + VILDAGLIPTIN 100MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as diabetes control needs continuous treatment
• Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original pack until it is time to take the medicine
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to dapagliflozin, vildagliptin, or any ingredient in the tablet
• Have type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Have severe kidney disease or are on dialysis
• Have severe liver disease

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have a history of urinary tract or genital infections
• Have kidney or liver problems
• Have a history of pancreatitis
• Are dehydrated or have low blood pressure
• Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
• Are due for surgery or a major medical procedure
• Have heart failure or are on diuretics (
