Uses and Benefits of DYDROFEM TABLET (DYDROGESTERONE 10MG)

Dydrogesterone is used mainly for gynaecological conditions related to progesterone deficiency.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Irregular or absent menstrual periods
• Painful periods (dysmenorrhoea)
• Endometriosis
• Threatened or recurrent miscarriage due to low progesterone
• Secondary amenorrhea (regulating cycles)
• Abnormal uterine bleeding
• As part of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) along with estrogen, to protect the uterus lining

HOW IT WORKS

• Dydrogesterone is a progestogen that closely mimics the action of natural progesterone
• It helps prepare and maintain the uterine lining needed for a healthy pregnancy
• It balances the effect of estrogen on the uterus, reducing risk of excess lining growth
• It helps regulate the menstrual cycle by supporting the second half of the cycle

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a contraceptive and does not prevent pregnancy
• It is not used to terminate a pregnancy
• It is not a treatment for infections or hormonal cancers
• It should not be used to induce abortion or as an emergency contraceptive

• Severe allergic reaction with rash, swelling of face/lips, or difficulty breathing
• Sudden severe headache or vision changes

How to Use DYDROFEM TABLET (DYDROGESTERONE 10MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in terms of dose, timing and duration
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water, with or without food
• Take it at the same time each day for best results
• Do not stop the medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, especially if used for pregnancy support
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve, unless your doctor advises otherwise

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one
• If you miss doses frequently, inform your doctor

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in a dry place, away from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to dydrogesterone or any ingredient in the tablet
• Have a history of hormone-sensitive cancer such as breast cancer, unless advised by an oncologist
• Have unexplained vaginal bleeding that has not been evaluated
• Have severe liver disease
• Have a history of blood clots (deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism)
