Escitalopram 10mg is mainly used to treat depression and various anxiety disorders.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Major depressive disorder
• Generalised anxiety disorder
• Panic disorder, with or without fear of open spaces
• Social anxiety disorder
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder (in some cases, as decided by the doctor)

How to Use ESTALOR 10MG TABLET (ESCITALOPRAM 10MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms
• It may take several weeks to feel the full benefit, so continue taking it as advised even if you don't feel better immediately

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to escitalopram or any other SSRI
• Are currently taking or have recently taken MAO inhibitor medicines
• Have a known heart rhythm problem called QT prolongation
