This combination medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially when diet, exercise, and a single medicine are not enough to control blood sugar levels.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
- Used along with diet and exercise for better blood sugar control
- Sometimes used together with other diabetes medicines as advised by the doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- Glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin
- Metformin reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with breakfast or the first main meal of the day
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Do not skip meals after taking this medicine as it can cause low blood sugar
- Continue to follow a healthy diet and exercise routine along with this medicine
- Do not stop taking it suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember, with food if possible
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
- Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one
