Uses and Benefits of GLIOTEM 100MG CAPSULE (TEMOZOLOMIDE 100MG.)

Temozolomide is a chemotherapy medicine prescribed for certain types of brain tumours, especially in adults.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme, usually along with radiotherapy
• Treatment of certain brain tumours (like anaplastic astrocytoma) that have come back or worsened after other treatments

HOW IT WORKS

• It belongs to a class of drugs called alkylating agents
• It attaches chemical groups to the DNA of cancer cells
• This damages the DNA and prevents cancer cells from multiplying, causing them to die

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for routine infections or fever
• Not a treatment for other types of cancer unless specifically advised by your oncologist

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your oncologist, in specific cycles with rest periods in between
• Usually taken on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after food
• Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water; do not open, chew, or crush it
• Anti-nausea medicine may be advised before taking this, especially on the first dose
• Regular blood tests are needed during treatment to check blood cell counts
• Do not stop or change the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Contact your doctor immediately for guidance rather than adjusting the dose yourself
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one
• Keep a record of your dosing schedule to avoid missed doses

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light, and moisture

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
