Uses and Benefits of GLIZID-M XR 60MG Tablets (Gliclazide 60mg + Metformin 500mg)
This medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise and a single medicine alone are not enough to control blood sugar.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
- Used along with diet and exercise as advised by your doctor
- Sometimes used together with other diabetes medicines or insulin
HOW IT WORKS
- Gliclazide stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin
- Metformin reduces the amount of sugar made by the liver
- Metformin also helps the body's cells use insulin more effectively
- Together they help lower blood sugar more effectively than either alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for type 1 diabetes
- Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis
- Not a treatment for weight loss
- Not meant for occasional or one-time use to lower sugar quickly
This medicine works best when taken regularly and combined with a healthy lifestyle. Regular blood sugar monitoring and doctor follow-up are important while using it.
