This medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise and a single medicine are not enough to control blood sugar.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
- Used along with diet control and physical activity
- Sometimes used with other diabetes medicines as advised by the doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin
- Metformin reduces sugar production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity
- Voglibose slows down carbohydrate digestion, reducing sugar rise after meals
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for type 1 diabetes
- Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis, an emergency condition
- Not a treatment for weight loss on its own
- Not meant for occasional or as-needed use for sudden high sugar

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Dizziness
- Headache

- Mild low blood sugar symptoms like sweating or shakiness
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe low blood sugar with confusion, fainting or seizures
- Signs of lactic acidosis such as unusual tiredness, muscle pain, trouble breathing, or fast heartbeat
- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat
- Yellowing of skin or eyes, signs of liver problems
- Persistent vomiting or severe stomach pain

How to Use GLUCONORM VG 1MG TABLET (Glimepiride 1mg + Metformin 500mg + Voglibose 0.2mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with the first bite of a main meal
- Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says so
- Do not skip meals after taking this medicine as it can cause low blood sugar
- Continue diet and exercise plan advised by your doctor
- Do not stop the medicine on your own even if you feel well
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it with your next meal if it is not too close to the next dose
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
- If you often forget doses, set a reminder or ask your pharmacist for tips

- Store at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight

- Have type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis

- Have severe infection, injury or are about to undergo major surgery
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding without doctor's approval
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have kidney, liver or heart problems
- Have a history of low blood sugar episodes
- Drink alcohol regularly
- Are scheduled for any surgery or imaging test using contrast dye
- Are elderly or have digestive disorders
