Uses and Benefits of INTAWIN 400MG TABLET (Fluconazole 400mg)

This medicine is prescribed to treat various fungal infections caused by susceptible organisms such as Candida and Cryptococcus.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of serious systemic fungal infections such as candidemia
• Treatment of cryptococcal meningitis
• Treatment of fungal infections in people with weakened immunity
• Prevention of fungal infections in patients undergoing chemotherapy or bone marrow transplant
• Treatment of certain severe vaginal, oral, or oesophageal candidiasis cases

HOW IT WORKS

• Fluconazole stops fungi from making a substance needed for their cell membrane
• This weakens the fungal cell wall and stops the fungus from growing and spreading
• It helps the body's immune system clear the infection over time

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not effective against bacterial infections
• It is not used for viral infections such as cold or flu
• It is not a treatment for mild skin rashes not caused by fungus
• It should not be used for infections not confirmed or suspected to be fungal by a doctor

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
• Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
• Take it at the same time each day if it is a multi-day course

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• Contact your doctor if you are unsure what to do

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink
