Amisulpride 200mg belongs to a group of medicines called antipsychotics. It is mainly used for managing symptoms of schizophrenia and similar psychiatric disorders.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating schizophrenia, including symptoms like hallucinations, delusions and disorganised thinking
• Managing both positive symptoms (such as agitation) and negative symptoms (such as withdrawal, low motivation) of schizophrenia
• Long-term maintenance treatment to prevent relapse, as advised by a psychiatrist

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks certain dopamine receptors in the brain
• Helps restore the balance of brain chemicals involved in thought and mood regulation
• Reduces abnormal brain activity linked to psychotic symptoms

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a treatment for general anxiety or everyday stress
• Not used for common sleep problems

How to Use JOYKEM O DT200MG TABLET (Amisulpride 200mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor tells you otherwise
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better
• Continue taking regularly at the same time each day for best results

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses often, inform your doctor

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not store in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink
• Discard expired medicine safely, do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to amisulpride or any of its ingredients
• Have a hormone-dependent tumour such as prolactin-releasing pituitary tumour or breast cancer
• Have phaeochromocytoma (a type of adrenal gland tumour)
• Are on other medicines that seriously affect heart rhythm

• Have kidney disease
• Have epilepsy or a history of seizures
• Have Parkinson's disease
