• Treatment of mania in bipolar disorder
• Long-term prevention of manic and depressive episodes in bipolar disorder
• Sometimes used to boost the effect of antidepressants in certain types of depression
• Occasionally used for certain aggressive or self-harming behaviour disorders under specialist advice

HOW IT WORKS

• Alters the movement of sodium and other ions in nerve and muscle cells

HOW TO TAKE IT
