Uses and Benefits of NEXIPRIDE 25MG TABLET (LEVOSULPRIDE)
Levosulpride is mainly used to treat digestive problems caused by poor movement of the stomach and intestines.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Functional dyspepsia (indigestion, fullness, bloating after meals)
- Nausea and vomiting related to slow stomach emptying
- Irritable bowel syndrome symptoms in some patients
- Gastroesophageal reflux-related discomfort as an add-on treatment
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks certain dopamine receptors in the gut, which increases the speed and coordination of stomach and intestinal movements
- This helps food move through the stomach more efficiently, reducing bloating, fullness, and nausea
- It also has a mild effect on brain dopamine pathways, which may help with associated anxiety or discomfort linked to digestive complaints
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a painkiller and does not treat stomach ulcers directly
- It is not used for infections or food poisoning
- It is not a treatment for major depression or psychiatric disorders

How to Use NEXIPRIDE 25MG TABLET (LEVOSULPRIDE)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually before meals
- Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
- Continue for the full duration advised by your doctor, even if you feel better
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember, but skip it if it is almost time for your next dose
- Do not take double doses to make up for a missed one
- If you miss doses frequently, inform your doctor

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to levosulpride or any of its ingredients
- Have a prolactin-dependent tumour such as certain pituitary tumours
- Have pheochromocytoma (a tumour of the adrenal gland)
- Have a history of movement disorders like tardive dyskinesia
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have kidney or liver disease
- Have a history of heart rhythm problems
- Have Parkinson's disease or any other movement disorder
- Are elderly, as you may be more sensitive to side effects
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other drugs affecting dopamine, such as antipsychotics
- Medicines that affect heart rhythm (QT-prolonging drugs)
- Sedatives or alcohol, which may increase drowsiness
- Other prokinetic agents used for digestion
